The rules of Virginia Energy Choice require Allegheny Power to provide your name, address, and energy usage history to licensed competitive energy suppliers upon request, unless you tell us otherwise. This information may help competing energy suppliers make offers that might interest you. It is your choice whether or not to share your information.

If you do not want your name and account information provided to competitive energy suppliers, you must notify Allegheny Power to have your name and information withheld. You can call us toll-free, 24 hours a day, at 1-800-Allegheny (1-800-255-3443).

Before calling, please have your 14-digit Allegheny Power account number handy. It is printed in the upper right corner of your electric bill.

When you call Allegheny Power, please listen carefully to all of the menu selections:

• Begin by pressing "1" for electric customers, and listen to the menu selections. If you would like information regarding electric deregulation, select menu option 5.
• Listen to the menu options, and press "3" to select information regarding Energy Choice in Virginia.
• Next, you will be asked to press "1" to select whether or not you would like to share your account information with competitive energy suppliers.
• You will be asked to enter your Allegheny Power account number.
• If you do not want to share your account information with competitive electric suppliers, press "1." You will be asked to verify your selection.
• If you do want to share your account information with other energy suppliers, press "3." You will be asked to verify your selection.
• If you wish to speak with a customer service representative, press "0."
• You may call Allegheny Power at any time if you decide to change your decision about sharing your name and account information with competitive energy suppliers.
