Winds of Change

If you're a customer in Pennsylvania, you can help support the development of clean, renewable wind power by signing up for the new Allegheny Renewable Energy Program. In conjunction with our Watt Watchers campaign, we partnered with Community Energy, Inc., a leading wind energy developer, to offer this voluntary new program.

Who is Community Energy Inc.?

Community Energy Inc. (CEI) is a marketer and developer of wind energy generation founded in 1999 and headquartered in Radnor, Pennsylvania. CEI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Iberdrola Renewables - the largest owner and operator of renewable energy facilities in the world. CEI developed and jointly owns the Jersey-Atlantic Wind Farm and the Bear Creek Wind Farm, and Iberdrola Renewables has wind projects under development across the United States. Clean Energy for a Cleaner World!

Buying 2 blocks (200 kilowatt-hours) of wind-generated electricity every month for one year reduces carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to planting more than an acre of trees or not driving 4,000 miles. To learn more about how wind energy contributes to conservation efforts visit www.newwindenergy.com.

Sign Up Today!

A small charge of $2.50 added to your monthly electric bill covers the expense of a minimum purchase of 100 kilowatt-hours of wind energy being delivered to the electric grid on your behalf. This cost is in addition to your regular electric bill. Rest assured Allegheny Power will continue to deliver your electricity safely and reliably.
